Mandate of representation before the court of first instance

Description

Any person may bring an action before the Court of First Instance which has jurisdiction in disputes between 4,000 and 10,000 euros. The District Court is also competent in matters of attachment of labour remuneration, problems relating to professional elections or the exercise of servitudes established for the benefit of individuals or owners’ union associations. It also has administrative powers, in particular the registration of civil solidarity pact agreements (PACS) or the drawing up of certificates of French nationality. The assistance of a lawyer is not compulsory before the District Court. You can defend yourself. It is also possible to be assisted or represented by your spouse or a member of your family.
