El Cnil solicit\u00f3, el 31 de julio de 2012, examinar los datos guardados por el grupo de motores de Google, como parte de su programa Street View.\u00a0Se recordar\u00e1 que durante los controles realizados en 2009 y 2010, la Comisi\u00f3n hab\u00eda observado que la empresa Google estaba recogiendo, desde sus veh\u00edculos dedicados al servicio Street View, datos sobre redes Wi-Fi.\u00a0De hecho, estos controles hab\u00edan revelado varias deficiencias, en particular la captura, sin el conocimiento de las personas interesadas, de los llamados datos de “contenido” (nombres de usuario, contrase\u00f1as, datos de conexi\u00f3n, intercambios de correo electr\u00f3nico).<\/span><\/h2>\n

Estos hallazgos llevaron a la\u00a0<\/span>CNIL<\/span><\/a>\u00a0a imponer una multa de 100 000 \u20ac a Google.\u00a0Tras esta decisi\u00f3n, la empresa Google le hab\u00eda comunicado, en junio de 2011, que procedi\u00f3 a la destrucci\u00f3n de los datos recogidos de forma il\u00edcita.\u00a0Sin embargo, mediante carta fechada el 27 de julio de 2012, Google notific\u00f3 a la Comisi\u00f3n y otras autoridades europeas de protecci\u00f3n de datos que todav\u00eda estaba en posesi\u00f3n de algunos de los datos de “contenido” recopilados por los autom\u00f3viles de Street View.\u00a0<\/span>Luego se disculp\u00f3.<\/span><\/p>\n

Al igual que su hom\u00f3logo brit\u00e1nico, “la Comisi\u00f3n ha pedido a Google que ponga a su disposici\u00f3n los datos en cuesti\u00f3n y que los almacene de forma segura durante el tiempo necesario para llevar a cabo todas las investigaciones necesarias”.<\/span><\/p>\n
