For example, you have taken out several loans and you can no longer cope with repayments. It is possible for you to submit a file to the Commission de surendettement located in the Banque de France branch of your department so that it can propose a plan for the amicable settlement of your debts to your creditors. The plan will need to be approved by you and your creditors. The Over-indebtedness Commission may recommend deferment, rescheduling of payments, reduction or cancellation of debts.
