\u00a0Decriminalization of abortion: Progress or limit?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Until today abortion is prohibited in the Principality of Monaco except in cases of rape or serious illness of the fetus.\u00a0Women are liable to a prison sentence of 6 months to 3 years and a fine of 9,000 to 18,000 euros.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of July 2019, it was decided, according to a press release from the Monegasque government, to consider passing a law decriminalizing abortion in the coming months.<\/span><\/p>\n
